EnviroSampTM Sponge Plus is a sampling device designed for the enumeration or detection of viable microorganisms from surfaces especially in the food production environment.

EnviroSampTM Sponge Plus is the adaptation of the sponge in flat form, which is folded (3.8 x 7.6 cm) and atiached to the end of a specially designed flexible plastic stick. Antimicrobial free, medical grade sponge guarantees maximum microorganism recovery from the sampled surfaces thanks to its high particle retention capacity.

Thanks to its long and flexible handle, EnviroSampTM Sponge Plus enables sampling from hard-to-reach surfaces, and the specially designed breaking line allows the sponge to be easily separated from the handle atier sampling.

EnviroSampTM Sponge Plus is pre-wetted with a validated volume of a diluent (Maximum recovery diluent or buffered peptone water) containing neutralizer in accordance with ISO 18593 standard and terminally sterilized by irradiation. The neutralizing content of the diluent is sufficient to neutralize the effects of residues of commonly used disinfectants.

EnviroSampTM Sponge Plus is also available in a pre-wetied version with maximum recovery diluent without neutralizer in accordance with the ISO 17604 standard.

EnviroSampTM Sponge Plus is supplied in a plastic bag (16 x 25 cm) with wire closure tabs with polyurethane and cellulosic sponge material alternatives. It has been reported in the scientific literature that cellulose and polyurethane are equivalent in surface sampling as sponge material.
