EnviroSampTM Sponge Swab is a sampling material for the enumeration or detection of viable microorganisms from surfaces especially in the food production environment.

Antimicrobial free, medical grade sponge (3.8 x 7.6 cm) guarantees maximum microorganism recovery from the sampled surfaces thanks to its high particle retention capacity.

EnviroSampTM Sponge Swab is pre-wetted with a validated volume of a diluent (Maximum recovery diluent or buffered peptone water) with or without neutralizer in accordance with ISO 18593 and ISO 17604 standards and terminally sterilized by irradiation. The neutralizing content of the diluent is sufficient to neutralize the effects of residues of commonly used disinfectants.

EnviroSampTM Sponge Swab is supplied in a plastic bag (16 x 25 cm) with wire closure tabs with polyurethane and cellulosic sponge material alternatives. It has been reported in the scientific literature that cellulose and polyurethane are equivalent in surface sampling as sponge material.
